 William M. Dempsey, Sr. |
William M. Dempsey,
Sr. Bill Dempsey, Sr. founded the present corporation in May of 1944. After his release from the U.S. Navy, he started working in the heating and cooling industry with the Williamson Company, where he remained until 1936. He then accepted a sales position with the old American Heating and Engineering Company in their Cincinnati office. In 1938 he became the company's Cincinnati manager, and in 1944 he purchased the local branch. He remained as President until 1956 when his son, William J. Dempsey, Jr. assumed the position. Mr. Dempsey, Sr. remained active in the business until his death in 1964. |

William J. Dempsey,
Jr. Mr. Dempsey, Jr. served as President from 1956 to 1985. He gained experience in the business as a young man by installing equipment during the summers of his high school years. After graduation, he worked as a furnace installer with the American Heating and Engineering Company until 1942, when his country called him into service as a fighter pilot in the Marine Corps. In 1946, after his tour of duty in the Pacific , he went to work for the present corporation. He retired in 1985 and passed away in 1996. |
David W. Dempsey Dave became president of the company in 1985. He is a graduate of St. Xavier High School and holds a Business Administration degree from Xavier University. He gained his experience through on-the-job training during his high school and college years, and now has over twenty years experience in the business since completing his college education. Dave manages all sales and installations. He has served on the Board of Greater Cincinnati Heating and Cooling Dealers. He and wife Kathy live in the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish with their two children, Chris and Alison. Dave is active coaching a wide variety of sports. Both kids are attending St. Ursula Academy. |
Michael W. Dempsey Mike joined American in 1975 and currently serves as the company's vice president. He graduated from St. Xavier High School and obtained his Business Administration degree from the University of Dayton. Mike manages all the business finances and helps out in sales. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association and Big Brothers of Greater Cincinnati. He and his wife Sue live in Hyde Park with their two children, Katie and Brian. Mike is active at the Cardinal Pacelli School as well as the Friars Club. He coaches both basketball and baseball. |
